More information about our cold plunges and showers
1. What exactly is cold plunge therapy and why should I consider it?
Cold plunge therapy involves immersing your body in cold water (often below 10 °C) for a short period. It can boost circulation, reduce muscle soreness, increase energy and support recovery after workouts or sauna sessions. Choosing a high-quality cold plunge makes it safe, comfortable and effective.
2. Are the plunge tubs and showers made for Canadian outdoor conditions?
Yes. The plunge tubs are manufactured in Canada with materials like welded stainless steel shell or HDPE liner, and cedar exteriors suited for outdoor use.
The outdoor showers are also handcrafted for outdoor use, with cedar structure and stainless-steel hardware, built to handle varying seasons.
3. What type of maintenance is required for the cold plunge tub?
- Drain and clean the tub periodically; many models include a garden-hose drain connection for easy water change.
- Check the cover (if included) to keep water clean and maintain cold temperature.
- Use a chiller or manage ice-conditioning depending on the model.
4. What plumbing or installation is required for the outdoor shower?
There are hardware options: “Economy” (cold water only) and “Premium” (hot & cold plus hand-held shower) fittings.
The unit is pre-fab and easy to assemble by two people. It can hook up to standard plumbing or garden-hose connection depending on the model.
Important: If you leave water in the unit over winter and it freezes, damage may occur and may not be covered under warranty.
5. Can I place the cold plunge tub or shower indoors or somewhere special?
Cold plunge: These are designed for outdoor or semi-outdoor use. They need appropriate base/support and water access/drainage.
Shower: While optimized for outdoor settings, you could place it under a covered area or even indoor if space and plumbing allow — check with your dealer for specifics.
Always verify site prep, drainage, and power/plumbing availability before purchase.
6. How customizable are the units (sizes, materials, options)?
Cold plunge: You’ll find interior liner options (stainless steel or HDPE), exterior cedar finishes, and optional accessories such as steps or covers.
Shower: Models can be upgraded in hardware, water supply setup, and may offer minimal size/design customization.
7. What about warranty and support?
Cold plunge: For example the Baltic model carries a 3-year residential warranty on materials and workmanship.
Shower: The outdoor shower line typically has a warranty (e.g., 3 years) under normal residential use, excluding damage from freezing or negligence.
You’ll also get manufacturer support and documentation (manuals, diagrams) with your unit.
8. Is there a recommended base or site preparation?
Yes — for safe installation and long term durability:
- Ensure a level, solid base (concrete pad, pavers, or compacted gravel) that can support the filled weight of the unit (especially cold plunge tubs with water).
- Provide access for drainage and power/water hook-ups.
- For showers: install near a pool deck or garden, with water drainage and clear access.
- For cold tubs: consider sheltering from direct sun or extreme elements for longer lifespan.
9. Are these units safe and easy to maintain?
Yes, if you follow the guidelines: keep water clean (for plunges), drain water when required (for showers in freezing weather), perform periodic checks of hardware and finishes.
Because they use premium materials (cedar, stainless steel, HDPE), they are built to last and resist outdoor deterioration.
For cold tubs, optional covers and temperature monitoring help maintain conditions.
10. How do I know if a plunge tub or outdoor shower is right for me?
Ask yourself:
Do I want a wellness ritual (sauna + cold plunge) or a simple rinse-off after a swim or outdoor activity?
- If yes, cold plunge tubs are excellent for active recovery.
- If you simply need an elegant outdoor shower experience, the shower models may suit better.
What space and site do I have? Make sure you can accommodate size, water supply, drainage and access.
What's my climate and usage plan? Outdoor units should be suited for Canadian weather, and you may need winter maintenance.
Once you’re aligned on space, budget and usage, choosing a high-quality Canadian-made unit will give you years of enjoyment and performance.
